As the Sales Manager Acute Care (m/f/d) at embecta, you will assume overall responsibility for the Acute Care sales team in Germany, focusing on hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and long-term care facilities. You will lead a team of two Account Managers and drive strategic and operational initiatives to expand our presence and impact in the acute care segment. Additionally, you will be responsible for the top key accounts in this dedicated segment. Your ability to lead, coach, and develop your team, combined with your experience in the healthcare sector, will be key to achieving our growth and sustainability goals in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and People Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of two Account Managers across Germany.
- Foster a high-performance culture with a strong focus on collaboration, accountability, and customer-centricity.
- Provide regular coaching and support to ensure professional growth and goal achievement.
- Set clear sales targets, monitor performance, and align team efforts with company objectives.
- Sales and Business Development
- Ensure strong customer relationships and expand our network within hospitals, rehab centers, and long-term care institutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the acute care segment.
- Develop and implement tailored sales strategies to meet the specific needs of the acute care market.
- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to support targeted campaigns and initiatives.
- In your function as Sales Manager Acute Care, you will be responsible for the top key accounts and their development.Strategic Planning and Optimization
- Utilize data-driven tools and insights (e.g., Salesforce.com, Excel) for territory planning, performance tracking, and route optimization.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to refine sales approaches and identify growth potential.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for the acute care business in Germany.
- Coaching and Field Support
- Accompany Account Managers on customer visits to provide guidance and ensure high-quality product presentations and consultations.
- Support the team in developing effective negotiation strategies and closing key deals.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement through regular feedback and knowledge sharing.
- KPI and Performance Management
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and territory analyses to drive continuous improvement.
- Report regularly to senior management on sales results, market developments, and team performance.
- Communication and Cross- functional Collaboration
- Act as a key interface between the field team and internal departments such as marketing, customer service, and operations.
- Ensure seamless communication and coordination across all relevant stakeholders to support sales success.
Experience & Education
- Several years of experience in sales of medical technology products or in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally with a focus on diabetology practices as well as in the areas of general medicine, pharmacy, and service providers.
- Experience in leading field sales teams with proven success in achieving targets.
- Experience integrating and leading digital sales reps to support and optimize the overall sales process.
- Proven track record and experience in sales management, such as segmentation, targeting, sales processes, sales cycle, planning & review
- Profound knowledge of the use of AI-based tools for region analysis and route optimization.
- Confident in using CRM tools such as Salesforce.com, PowerBI or similar systems.
- Independent execution of Excel and Salesforce analyses and the ability to derive concrete, data-based measures from these analyses
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in consulting healthcare professionals, physicians and KOLs.
- Analytical skills to measure and optimize sales performance against KPIs.
- High level of initiative, goal orientation and strong leadership skills.
- Excellent financial skills and business acumen
- Business fluent German and English (written and spoken).
