Job Description:

Are you ready to lead and elevate a high-performing sales team? In this impactful role, you’ll be at the forefront of building and driving the Country Sales strategy—taking ownership of everything from establishing strong key opinion leader relationships to leading a dynamic team toward peak performance. This role offers strategic scope, leadership growth, and the chance to shape the future of sales in a thriving market.

Key responsibilities

  • Develops country performance objectives, sales programs, and goals in close collaboration with Marketing, Medical, and Market Access functions, as well as in partnership with relevant EMEA teams.
  • Assumes sales responsibility for all sales including the development of sales programs—recruiting, training, remuneration, and motivation of the sales force.
  • Designs and implements policies and procedures for the functions within his responsibility.
  • Cooperates closely with Marketing planning and commercialization of new products.
  • Coordinates in close cooperation with Marketing, pre-sales, and sales efforts at local and international meetings held in Germany.
  • Develops and maintains familiarity with industry trends, legislative changes, and the competitive environment, keeping management informed.
  • Responsible for the sales part in the budget process in close communication and coordination with GM and Marketing.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical sales management, preferably in ophthalmic pharmaceuticals.
  • Solid understanding of the German, preferably Western European, ophthalmic pharmaceutical markets, including categorization of target customers, proven knowledge of competition and trends concerning expansion and growth, and the implementation and customization of business processes and IT systems to the changing business situation.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership in sales or business development roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others.
  • Fluent in German and excellent command of English in speaking and writing.
