Job description

Why Newborn Care Matters

Every day, thousands of babies enter the world needing immediate care. For some, the first hours of life will shape their future.

A hearing screening can detect hearing loss before it impacts speech and development. Early diagnosis of jaundice can prevent lifelong complications. The right technology enables healthcare professionals to make critical decisions when every minute counts.

That is why our Newborn Care business matters.

We are not just delivering medical devices—we are helping clinicians give every newborn the best possible start in life. While this is a specialized market, the impact is immense. Every customer we support represents countless babies and families who benefit from early detection and timely intervention.

The opportunity

In Europe, we are at an inflection point. We have an established business, a strong product portfolio, and trusted customer relationships across the region. At the same time, we have a unique opportunity to strengthen our market position by expanding our direct commercial presence, deepening customer partnerships, and accelerating growth in both existing and untapped markets.

Position Summary

The Sales Director Europe – Newborn Care is responsible for driving the commercial growth of the Newborn Care business across Europe. This executive leadership role requires deep expertise in the European newborn care market, including a thorough understanding of customers, products, competitive dynamics, and healthcare systems.

Building on an established business across both direct and distributor-led markets, the successful candidate will define and execute the commercial strategy, identify growth opportunities, and optimize the go-to-market model, including the transition of selected distributor markets to direct sales where appropriate.

Success in this role depends on strong market assessment capabilities, strategic thinking, disciplined pipeline management, and the ability to build and leverage long-term relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), strategic customers, and key stakeholders across Europe.

  • Identify growth opportunities within existing markets while driving expansion into new segments and accounts.
Optimization of the Go-To-Market Strategy by country
  • Develop country-specific transition plans while protecting existing revenue streams and customer relationships.
  • Maintain strong relationships with current distribution partners and ensure business continuity throughout any transformation process.
  • Drive commercial integration and operational readiness in newly established direct markets.
Pipeline & Funnel Management
  • Implement best-in-class pipeline and funnel management processes across Europe.
  • Drive forecasting accuracy, opportunity management, and sales discipline throughout the organization.
  • Establish KPI-driven sales reviews to ensure visibility into commercial performance and future growth opportunities.
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM systems and data-driven decision-making to improve conversion rates and commercial effectiveness.
Strategic Market Leadership
  • Serve as the organization's expert on the European newborn care market.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of customer needs, market trends, competitive developments, reimbursement environments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide strategic input into product launches, portfolio development, and market access initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product Management, Clinical Affairs, Service, and Operations to maximize market success.
Executive Leadership
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning, organizational development, and investment decisions.
  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure alignment between commercial objectives and operational execution.
  • Represent the company at major industry conferences, customer engagements, and executive-level forums.
