Responsible for the development of the strategic direction and execution for the DACH Sales and Technical Service organization in their territories :
- Create strategic sales plan to achieve short-mid-long term business objectives.
- Deliver the organization P&L targets on a consistent basis, keeping a focus on top and bottom-line growth.
- Ensure development, implementation, and evaluation of country sales plans including KPI’s for each market / country.
- Support the set-up definition of country sales organizations to deliver on growth.
- Identify key strategic DACH customers and develop multi-level relationships to drive business growth through larger customers.
- Lead change internally and externally to drive GI sales strategy.
- Develop and execute plans to identify further sales channels / segments with existing customers.
- Drive and report on progress of GI DACH plans by having monthly Business Review meetings.
Business development strategy
- Actively drive the growth strategy of GI DACH by identifying new market opportunities.
- Work with other functional Managers to build concrete plans to win new business.
- Critically reviews progress against plan to continuously assess commercial potential, adjusting as necessary in order to assure optimal profitability.
- Identifies and develops potential internal and external strategic partners in development of these opportunities.
- Contribute to drive the integration of potential M&A activities across the DACH sub-region including leveraging on synergies and creating best practices combining the best of both worlds.
Internal processes and Alignment
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders in the wider business to create a line of one and accelerate business growth.
- Actively bring the voice of the customers into collaboration with Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Ops and R&D.
- Drive cross functional improvement programs to improve customer journey / experience.
- To lead, coach and manage the Sales and Technical Services team to accelerate growth in each country.
- Actively help in building individual development and succession plans for the organization to deliver on growth ambition.
- Create an engaging environment that supports SHW corporate priorities.
- Drive performance evaluation and personal development of the Sales Teams in DACH.
- Bachelor in a business / technical / scientist area. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years experience in a Senior Sales role
- Minimum of 10 years experience in leading Senior Sales professionals
- 5 years experience in a Sales Director role within a comparable industry or matrix organization preferred
- A genuine people leader with strong focus on development and coaching to help the team reach their full potential
- A highly motivated self-starter capable of leading as well as adapting quickly to change.
- A collaborative & professional approach with an amenable style.
- Good strategic thinking whilst also demonstrating attention to detail.
- A problem solver and independent thinker capable of delivering sound arguments.
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills with ability to develop key relationships at all levels of the business.
- Proven track record of successfully working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrable numeracy and analytical skills.
- Travel requirements : 50% or more
