Overview

The Sales Consultant - Lab Automation is responsible for the sales of laboratory automation solutions for microbiological laboratories within the assigned market area (Northeast Germany) for the acute care and private laboratory customer segments. We are flexible! This position can be either full time or part time based on need and individual agreement.

Responsibilities

As a Sales Consultant - Lab Automation, you will be responsible for creating and executing a sales plan and annual budget based on sales policies. You will identify and develop new business opportunities in close collaboration with the Sales and Account Management teams in your region. Additionally, you will increase the automation level of existing laboratory automation customers through additional equipment placements.

  • Solution-oriented Sales: Advising customers on the optimal solution based on their needs. Implementing change management principles during the sale and implementation of laboratory automation solutions.
  • Conducting and Evaluating Automation Impact Analysis (AIA): Creating workflow analyses and identifying profitable solutions.
  • Consulting to Identify Laboratory Performance: Advising on ways to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Developing Business Cases: Working closely with potential customers to develop business cases.
  • Creating Proposal Suggestions: Applying various negotiation strategies.
  • Participating in Exhibitions, Seminars, and Reference Laboratory Visits.
  • Attending Project Meetings: Collaborating with the Business Director and the European Product Manager.
  • Close Collaboration: Working closely with the entire DS team, including application, project management, sales, technical service, etc.
  • Travel: Traveling within the territory and across Europe for training in the Netherlands and reference customer visits in Europe.
About You

You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in natural sciences (ideally microbiology) and have 3-5 years of experience in capital goods sales and strategic sales approaches. Additionally, you possess strong professional communication skills and experience negotiating at the executive level.

  • Excellent Business Development Skills: Proven leadership qualities and a high-performance track record with a strong win loss ratio.
  • Passion for Customer & Relationship Management.
  • Salesforce.com and Power BI experiences are a plus.
  • Ability to Understand and Communicate Effectively: Engaging with individuals from a wide range of business and technical disciplines to achieve external and internal goals.
  • Ability to Work Effectively in Multifunctional Teams.
  • Proactive, Structured, Pragmatic, Organizationally Skilled, Action-oriented with a Strong Drive for Results.
  • Comfortable in a Challenging Environment.
  • Strategic Selling: Familiarity with Miller Heiman (Korn Ferry) methodologies.
  • Fluent in German and English.
