We're Hiring: Business Development Executive (Energy Sales) – Germany (hybrid, with future office leadership)

Location: Germany (hybrid to start; opportunity to open and lead a local office)

An ambitious, fast-growing global trading firm is looking for a high-performing Business Development Executive to lead its commercial expansion into the German market.

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial team at the forefront of environmental and renewable commodities trading. As the first sales-focused hire on the ground, you’ll be responsible for driving new business, building a client base from scratch, and playing a central role in launching and leading a future local office.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactively generate new leads and drive outbound sales through cold calling, outreach, and networking
  • Build and manage relationships with clients in the German environmental/renewables markets
  • Promote and sell a range of environmental products (e.g. GO, EUA, etc.)
  • Uncover and act on commercial opportunities in the region
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategy and growth planning
  • Take the lead in setting up and managing a local office as the team scales

What we're looking for:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in sales or business development (preferably in energy/environmental markets)
  • Proven ability to drive outbound sales and develop new business from scratch
  • Strong cold calling and consultative selling skills
  • Deep knowledge of the German market and regulatory landscape
  • Fluency in German and English
  • Entrepreneurial, target-driven, and self-motivated mindset
  • Comfortable with remote work and building processes independently
