Safety and Reliability Engineer Controls (f/m/d) - Dahlewitz

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safety and Reliability Engineer Controls (f/m/d) to join Rolls-Royce Deutschland in Dahlewitz near Berlin.

This role provides the opportunity to ensure, at all phases of an aero gas turbine lifecycle, that the Safety & Reliability attributes of the product are understood and that the risks arising from it are managed to an acceptable level. Contribute to capability acquisition/improvement as well as to the technical and process governance of the S&R capability.

Our headquarters in Dahlewitz near Berlin host the company's Development, Assembly, and Customer Service units, along with central administrative and strategic departments.

Key Accountabilities:

• Understand potential degradation and failure mechanisms of a gas turbine's control system, including the consequences of failure modes and hazards. Develop and deploy models using deterministic or probabilistic/data mining techniques where applicable.
• Lead assessments of new and derivative design solutions/architectures, product operation, and maintenance practices to evaluate their impact on safety. Develop and deploy models at software, component, system, and asset levels to characterize safety attributes. Support classification activities for parts/functions.
• Extract insights from analyses and generate improvement proposals to influence design, development, and in-service management.
• Support product development, entry into service, and in-service phases through the coordination and updating of Safety & Reliability documentation (e.g., FHA, FMECA, SSA, TLD, safety class analysis, fault schedules, OCL).
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities on Safety & Reliability matters on behalf of the discipline.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.
• Good understanding of control or embedded systems, with the ability to apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to technical problems.
• Experience or interest in deploying Safety & Reliability tools and methods.
• Knowledge of standards such as ARP4761, ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-160, DO-254, ISO26262, or aerospace certification frameworks is a plus.
• Fluent English skills.
