An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Safety and Reliability Engineer Controls (f / m / d) to join Rolls-Royce Deutschland in Dahlewitz near Berlin.

This role provides the opportunity to ensure, at all phases of an aero gas turbine lifecycle, that the Safety & Reliability attributes of the product are understood and that the risks arising from it are managed to an acceptable level. Contribute to capability acquisition / improvement as well as to the technical and process governance of the S&R capability.

Key Accountabilities :

  1. Understand potential degradation and failure mechanisms of gas turbine control systems, assess their consequences, and develop models using deterministic or data-driven techniques.
  2. Lead assessments of new and derivative design solutions to evaluate safety impacts, supporting classification activities at various levels.
  3. Extract insights from analyses to propose improvements influencing design, development, and in-service management.
  4. Support product development and in-service phases by updating Safety & Reliability documentation (e.g., FHA, FMECA, SSA, TLD, safety class analysis, fault schedules, OCL).
  5. Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities on Safety & Reliability matters.

Qualifications and Skills :

  1. Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or Math.
  2. Understanding of control or embedded systems, with analytical and innovative problem-solving skills.
  3. Experience with Safety & Reliability tools and methods or interest in this area.
  4. Knowledge of standards like ARP4761, ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-160, DO-254, or ISO26262, and aerospace certification frameworks is a plus.
