SAP Sovereign Cloud is looking for an S/4 Hana Architect to be the primary technical owner and strategic advisor for customer private cloud landscapes, driving stability, optimization, and architectural improvements.

In this role you deliver fixed-scope, proactive services across the SAP software stack to Sovereign Cloud clients, with an emphasis on governance, risk management, automation, and seamless cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifikationen

• Strong SAP Basis experience in both implementation and steady-state scenarios.
• Extensive SAP technical administration and operations experience (7+ years).
• Experience with SAP RISE methodology and SAP migrations.
• Experience with SAP HANA and Linux environments (5+ years).
• Customer-facing technical leadership or escalation management experience.
• Collaborative, results-driven mindset with cross-functional coordination ability.
• Experience with SAP Cloud Infrastructure, OpenStack, Terraform or Ansible is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in SAP technologies and hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a plus.
• Fluent business English; German language skills are a plus.

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We are looking for an S/4 Hana Architect within SAP Sovereign Cloud. You will act as the primary technical owner and strategic advisor for customer private cloud landscapes, driving stability and optimization, and contributing to architectural improvements. In this role, you will drive proactive risk management, provide architectural guidance, and oversee end-to-end technical governance, empowering customers to achieve secure, reliable, and scalable cloud operations aligned with their business goals.

As an Architect you deliver fixed‑scope, proactive and outcome‑based services across the entire SAP software stack to SAP's Sovereign Cloud customers. This team is dedicated to customer centricity, client intimacy and support of client lifecycle management.

Your Core Tasks Include But Are Not Limited To

• Provide strategic cloud architecture and technical governance leadership, defining roadmaps, standards, best practices that optimise the landscape and align with business objectives and long‑term sustainability.
• Lead key landscape lifecycle activities and transformation initiatives, including upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery testing, major changes, and adoption of SAP S/4HANA, Clean Core principles, and cloud capabilities.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, critical issues, and escalations, driving preventive actions and coordinating timely resolution through close engagement with customers and internal teams.
• Drive automation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement, ensuring reliable operations, measurable business outcomes, and value realization from cloud investments.

What You Bring

• Strong technical expertise in SAP technologies with several years of hands‑on SAP Basis experience (REQUIRED) in both implementation and steady‑state scenarios; knowledge of operating systems, databases, networking, disaster recovery/HA and technical architecture is considered essential to being successful in this role.
• Extensive experience in SAP technical administration and operations (7+ years).
• Extensive experience in the SAP RISE methodology and SAP migrations.
• Experience with SAP HANA and Linux environments (5+ years) is highly valued.
• Customer‑focused experience in technical leadership or customer‑facing roles, with the ability to manage critical situations, navigate escalations, and build trusted stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative and analytical mindset, with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to effectively lead and coordinate projects across diverse, global, and virtual teams.
• Relevant experience in SAP Cloud Infrastructure, Open Stack, Terraform or Ansible is a plus.
• Relevant certifications in SAP technologies and hyperscaler platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are considered an advantage.
• Fluent business English language skills, German language skills are a plus.
• Commitment to maintaining daily office presence for efficient team collaboration. Available office locations: Berlin or St. Leon‑Rot.
