This role is based in Frankfurt, Germany, and requires an EU work permit. The position involves working within the Risk Division at Goldman Sachs, focusing on operational resilience and risk management.

Job Description

The Risk Division manages credit, market, liquidity, operational, and capital risks. The Operational Risk Department develops frameworks to identify, measure, and monitor operational risk across the firm. This Associate role focuses on strengthening the firm’s operational resilience, continuously identifying, monitoring, and assessing its landscape.

Responsibilities

1. Understand European regulatory approaches to operational resilience and integrate these into the firm's framework.
2. Support execution of the operational resilience framework for European legal entities.
3. Manage firmwide tests of recovery strategies, including home working, recovery sites, and function handovers.
4. Ensure resilience planning activities are completed timely and with quality.
5. Analyze adherence to regulatory requirements related to operational resilience.
6. Maintain operational resilience metrics for EMEA legal entities.
7. Monitor, trigger, escalate, and mitigate risks based on metrics.
8. Identify initiatives to improve risk management activities.
9. Monitor operational resilience events, collect data, and report as needed.
10. Present strategies to senior management and stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of global investment bank operations and resilience regulations, especially in the EU and Switzerland.
• Experience in strategy setting and cross-organizational collaboration.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on delivery.
