A leading research institution in Heidelberg is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to contribute to important research projects in molecular biology and hematology. The role involves extensive collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, managing laboratory tasks, and utilizing cutting-edge technology. Ideal candidates will have a background in life sciences and relevant lab experience.
We are looking for a highly motivated research technician to join the Zaugg group at EMBL Heidelberg an interdisciplinary team of experimental and computational scientists.
Our research combines large-scale multi-omics and computational approaches to understand how genetic epigenetic and microenvironmental cues shape cellular phenotypes with a strong focus on hematopoiesis and hematological malignancies. Supported by an ERC Consolidator Grant we study the human bone marrow microenvironment using primary human material animal and tissue culture models and state-of-the-art single-cell and spatial technologies.
As a research technician you will work closely together with the experimentalists in the group and will make core scientific contributions to multiple research projects. The work will be carried out in a highly collaborative environment using cutting-edge technologies with various possibilities to acquire new skills and techniques.
EMBL is curiosity-driven, community-oriented and international. As an inclusive equal opportunity employer we believe that diversity enables us to collaborate more effectively and be innovative in our approaches. We are therefore committed to creating an inclusive and flexible culture - one where everyone can realise their full potential and make a positive contribution to our organisation.
We encourage applications from individuals who can complement our existing team; success is built on having teams whose backgrounds and personal experiences reflect the diversity of the populations that our science serves. We actively encourage applications from all genders and cultures, ethnic groups and all demographics to help us avoid perpetuating biases and oversights at this transformational point in our people strategy.
