Your mission
- Taking responsibility for structural biology research projects (negative stain and cryo-EM), including project management.
- Grid preparation, cryo-EM data acquisition on a Glacios or Titan Krios, data processing and interpretation, model building, and refinement.
- Planning, development, implementation, and optimization of cryo-EM experiments.
- Responsible for planning and instructing a group of technical assistants.
- Representation of scientific results, as well as convincing and confident communication of the content to colleagues, customers, and business partners.
Your profile
- Degree in Chemistry or a related field and a Ph.D. in cryo-EM of proteins with an excellent track record.
- Several EM map/structure depositions and related publications.
- Work experience in the life science industry and project management is an asset.
- Good Linux systems knowledge.
- Expertise in all aspects of EM grid preparation, TEM operation, data acquisition, and image processing.
- Strong expertise in cryo-EM and structural analysis software (e.g., Relion, cisTEM, cryoSPARC, EMAN, CCPEM, Chimera, COOT).
- Experience in high-resolution structure determination by cryo-EM, including model building from scratch and structure refinement.
- Scripting experience is an asset (Shell, Perl, Python).
- Independent, service-oriented work style, paired with great team spirit and organizational skills.
