Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an engineer (m/f/d) in basic research to develop new concepts and foundational technologies for a sustainable energy future. You will work on concepts, calculations, and simulations for power transformers and contribute to PoCs and prototypes.

The role emphasizes independent work in a distributed team, advanced English skills, and collaboration with German-speaking colleagues. The team operates within Grid Technology, focusing on HVDC, grid stability, and digital grid

Qualifications

• Completed studies M.Sc in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• Long term of experience in an engineering product development or research environment for power transformers, including hands-on use of simulation software for electromagnetic and dielectric analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a distributed team environment.
• Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus, especially German.

Responsibilities

• Conception and research of new technologies, as well as the development of innovative electrical concepts and their theoretical foundation up to PoC's and prototypes.
• Performing electrical field calculations and evaluating losses in power transformer components.
• New and further development of simulation and calculation methods in the field of electrical engineering.
• Planning, implementation and evaluation of test series and comparison with calculation results.
