Zusammenfassung

Eine führende deutsche Universität in Hamburg sucht einen Forschungsmitarbeiter (m/w/d) zur Entwicklung von AI-basierten Systemen für die Robotik. Die Stelle erfordert sehr gute Programmierkenntnisse in Python und C++, sowie eine abgeschlossene wissenschaftliche Ausbildung in Informatik oder verwandten Bereichen. Zusätzlich wird ein Interesse an der Promotion erwartet. Vollzeitstelle über einen Zeitraum von bis zu drei Jahren.

Qualifikationen

Our institute has a long standing track record developing AI methods for medicine. We are particularly interested in machine learning, medical robotics and navigation, image guidedance, and treatment planning.

In a project with clinical partners we are developing an AI based system for guiding robotic surgery. The focus will be on deep learning methods for image processing and tumor localization using robotic instruments. We will develop a prototypical software for 3D visualization of the surgical scene. The project has a research context and we expect candidates to be interested in obtaining a PhD.

YOUR TASKS

  • Developing and evaluating deep learning methods for image processing, particularly to identify tissue and instrument motion
  • Implementing interfaces to a robot and a 3D visualization environment, navigating the surgeons to the target
  • Collaborating with different partners, including at a clinics, supporting the the pre-clinical evaluation of the system
  • Systematic experimental evaluations, including on realistic data
  • Presentation of your results at top-tier international conferences and publication in high-ranking journals

YOUR PROFILE

Requirements

  • Completed scientific university studies, in particular in the subject Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Math or related fields

Required Knowledge And Personal Skills

  • Very good programming skills, particularly in Python and C++
  • Excellent knowledge of recent machine learning methods and frameworks
  • Very good understanding of medical imaging and image processing as well as robotics
  • Excellent English language and scientific writing skills are required (at least C1 GeR), German is a plus
