Research Associate "Spatio-temporal Statistics for the Transition of Energy and Transport"

The position is part of the project “Uncertainty quantification for decision support in transport logistics systems“ within the DFG-Collaborative Research Center/Transregio 391(https://www.trr391.tu-dortmund.de). The opportunity for concurrently pursuing a PhD is offered.
- Designing computer experiments on logistic systems, statistical modelling of key performance indicators and uncertainty quantification.
- Conducting original research e.g. in the fields of global sensitivity analysis, design of experiments, Gaussian process models and generalized additive models.
- Overseeing and coordinating the project management on the day-to-day level, supervising student assistants, preparing required documentation.
- Writing scientific publications for conferences and journals.
- Working in an interdisciplinary, international team of statisticians, experts in logistics and computer scientists.
- A diploma or master’s degree in statistics or data science, or alternatively mathematics, computer science, logistics or a related program (with a focus on statistics or data science).
- Knowledge of statistical software such as R, SAS and JMP as well as Python.
- A strong interest in interdisciplinary work.
- The capability to communicate scientific concepts in an accessible way.
- A good level of written and spoken German and English is mandatory for this position.
