Initially limited for three years | starting date: 01.10.2025 | part-time with 65% | Salary according to TV-L E 13 | Centre of Reproductive Medicine and Andrology - research training group "Chemical Biology of Ion Channels (Chembion)" | Job ID: 10796

We are UKM. We have a clear social mission and, with our focus on healthcare, research, and teaching, we bear a unique responsibility.

To meet our high standards every day, we are looking for scientific expertise in the research training group "Chemical Biology of Ion Channels (Chembion)" at the Centre of Reproductive Medicine and Andrology - ideally with you on board!
An interdisciplinary team of 13 scientists at the University of Münster has come together to advance the pharmacology and physiology of ion channels using innovative chemical tools. We are dedicated to training PhD students in the field of chemical biology and supporting their development into skilled, independent, and internationally minded scientists.

The Molecular Reproductive Physiology group, led by Timo Strünker, explores the molecular mechanisms that control human sperm function and fertilization. Our research focuses on the physiology and pharmacology of ion channels, employing techniques such as electrophysiology, fluorometric imaging (Ca²⁺, pH, membrane potential), and microscopy.

Join us to advance understanding of ion channel physiology in a dynamic, supportive, and international environment.

**Requirements:**
- Commitment to working in a multidisciplinary setting
- Motivation to participate in a structured PhD training program
- Interest in studying ion channels involved in reproduction
- Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, physics, or similar
- Experience in techniques to study ion channels and/or receptors (desired but not required)

**Benefits:**
- Structured PhD training program
- International and motivated team
- Mentoring and professional development
- State-of-the-art research facilities
- Innovative technologies
- Career development opportunities

Join us to contribute to exciting projects and professional growth in a collaborative environment.
