Qualifikationen

Research Associate / PhD Candidate (f / m / d)

At the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing of Heidelberg University, the new working group of Prof. Dr. Saeed Amirjalayer (www.samirjalayer.de), established in September 2024, is seeking to fill two part-time positions in the field of computational and theoretical Chemistry, starting from 01.11.2024. The positions are initially limited to 2 years, and the roles include:

  1. Multiscale simulations of stimuli-responsive functional materials
  2. Investigation of structural and dynamic properties of molecular switches and machines
  3. Development and application of evolutionary algorithms, neural networks, and machine learning for modeling, evaluation, and visualization of dynamic phenomena
  4. Scientific collaboration and exchange with experimental groups

Your profile :

  • Successfully completed undergraduate studies (M.Sc. or equivalent) in chemistry, physics, or a related field
  • High motivation to learn, develop, and apply new theoretical methods
  • Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn collaboratively
  • Ideally, experience with quantum chemistry and/or molecular mechanics software packages and programming
  • Good communication skills in English, both oral and written

Remuneration : In accordance with pay group 13 TV-L.
