• Conduct research in the Databases and Information Systems group, as part of the collaborative research center FONDA – Foundations of Workflows for Large-Scale Scientific Data Analysis (https://fonda.hu-berlin.de/) in the field of infrastructures for distributed and parallel data analysis, and related areas
• Develop the algorithmic foundations for the modularization of data analysis pipelines, as well as for their management, semantic integration and collaborative use
• Implement and evaluate the developed techniques
• Collaborate with other researchers and visit other research groups within FONDA and its international network
• Publish research results in renowned journals and the proceedings of leading international conferences
• Take tasks for their own academic qualification

Requirements:

• An excellent MSc degree (PhD level position) or an excellent PhD (Postdoc level position) in computer science, or related fields; ideally with a focus on data engineering
• Knowledge in the fields of scientific workflows and data analysis pipelines
• Expertise in the development of algorithms for the modularization and the management of data analysis pipelines
• Very good programming skills
• Experience in methods for data extraction and data integration
• Excellent scientific communication and writing skills in English
