Your responsibilities

Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.

The Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) is a competence unit for research and forms the core element for the central support of digitalization and digital transformation in research at the University of Hamburg.

In the project "RESCUE-MATE - Dynamic Situation Generation and Support for Rescue Forces in Complex Crisis Situations", you will research the conceptualization of demonstrators, research and engineering of the design of situation overviews for decision support as well as the use of innovative technologies such as mixed reality or the potential of artificial intelligence for disaster control and coordination with the other partners.

  • specification of use cases, requirements and socio-technical systems
  • conception and development of situation overviews and decision support systems
  • exploration of representations in complex crisis scenarios
  • survey of informational needs in civil society and participation in the design of a citizen app
  • creation of a demonstration and integration concept for the overall project

Your profile

A university degree in a relevant field.

  • experience in modeling and designing socio-technical systems
  • experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Digital Transformation
    • Design Science Research
    • Software engineering, especially requirements engineering
    • Piloting and demonstration of socio-technical systems
    • Maschine Learning
    • Public safety & civil protection
  • very good command of written and spoken English and German
  • strong social and communication skills, initiative, motivation, high sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team and very good organizational skills
