Your responsibilities

Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.

The Project „Earth System Reanalysis“ develops a novel adjoint-based climate data assimilation framework and applies it to perform pilot Earth system reanalysis. The successful candidate will participate in improving an already existing pilot coupled Earth system reanalysis by spearheading innovative climate model improvement concepts through parameter estimation and by expanding the existing assimilation framework through methodological advances.

Your profile

A university degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate.

PhD in physical oceanography, meteorology, or related fields. Experience with general circulation models and/or data assimilation/machine learning is desirable.
