Offer Description

Area of research:

Scientific / postdoctoral posts

Application Deadline: 31 Aug 2025 - 21:59 (UTC)

The project "OSGUT" aims to establish interactive formats that bridge the gap between simulation models and digital twins, and to develop inclusive planning and design processes. You will explore, co-develop, and test digital tools for participatory scenario building, virtual experimentation, and spatial planning. Responsibilities include:

  • Mapping and critically assessing existing tools and digital methods for participatory and transdisciplinary design and planning
  • Identifying and adapting innovative technologies for local use cases
  • Coordinating and implementing pilot experiments focusing on local contexts (e.g., Karlsruhe), involving digital twins and participatory platforms
  • Designing and facilitating participatory interventions and co-creation processes with citizens and stakeholders using digital/virtual tools
  • Linking digital approaches across Helmholtz Centers to help shape a cross-institutional simulation infrastructure
  • Supporting knowledge transfer and documenting use cases for future research infrastructure proposals

This research is part of the Helmholtz Association, Germany’s largest scientific organization, comprising over 42,000 employees and an annual budget exceeding €5 billion.
