You will conduct research on photochemistry and contribute to the project on heterostructures. Research Assistant (m/f/d) in the field ofOrganic Chemistry and Functional Materialswith expected 75%part-time employment - E 13 TV-L HU (third-party funding limited until 30.06.2029)

  • scientific services in the project “Heterostructures of Molecules and Two-Dimensional Materials”
  • synthesis of various photoreactive molecules
  • investigation of molecular photochemistry in solution and in the solid state
  • functionalization of 2D materials
  • understanding the structure-property relationships of photoswitch molecules adsorbed on 2D materials
  • opportunity to obtain your own scientific qualification (doctorate)

Requirements:

  • completed university degree with a specialization in organic chemistry, synthetic materials chemistry, or related fields, all with relevant experience in experimental work
  • in-depth practical knowledge of organic synthesis and spectroscopic (possibly microscopic) characterization of molecular materials is essential
  • good theoretical background in optical spectroscopy and data interpretation is required
  • knowledge of the self-organization of organic molecules on 2D materials is preferred
  • experience in the fields of photochemistry and in the use of standard chemical software and evaluation tools such as ChemDraw and Origin is an advantage
  • very good written and spoken English skills required (at least B2)
  • high level of motivation and willingness to work in an interdisciplinary scientific environment
