The Department of Psychology, research group Personality and Individual Differences, led by Prof. Erik M. Mueller, is seeking applications for a doctoral research assistant position.

Position Details

• Start date: October 1, 2025
• Part-time (50% of full-time hours)
• Salary and benefits aligned with public service in Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 50%)
• Duration: until September 30, 2028, aligned with doctoral completion requirements

Responsibilities

• Conducting research and teaching activities
• Planning, executing, and analyzing empirical studies
• Contributing to scientific publications
• Supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses
• Participating in administrative tasks
• Teaching in Personality Psychology and Psychological Assessment

Candidate Profile

• MSc or equivalent in Psychology or related field
• Excellent academic record, especially in Personality Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Psychological Assessment
• Strong interest in Personality Psychology and neurobiology of affect
• Proficiency in German is advantageous
• Solid knowledge of experimental psychology
• Experience with psychophysiological methods (e.g., EEG) or programming (e.g., Matlab, Python, R) is a plus
• Initial experience in publishing and presenting research
• Motivation for scientific qualification
