Responsibilities of the job :
The job holder is expected to manage and grow business in a wide range of product applications and geographical areas. The role demands an in-depth knowledge and understanding of a broad range of business activities including business development, commercial, technical, processing, financial, and environmental issues relating to all market sectors and across the complete customer portfolio.
- Establish, maintain, and grow sales in your defined territory in line with business expectations. Maintain and grow relationships and accounts with critical and strategically important customers to achieve sales targets (volume, margin, and payment terms) and deliver service levels as defined by the business.
- Monitor and report monthly on performance against budget (volumes and margin) and detail specific customer, competitor, and overall market activities to inform future business strategy and objective setting.
- Submit short, medium, and long-term budgets and forecasts, and issue monthly sales forecasts and reports against business expectations, budget, and KPIs, covering your portfolio/geography (by customer, grade, color, packaging) to optimize stock holding and assist in planning plant production scheduling. Submit visit reports, account, and market plans as per business expectations.
- Set and gain approval for maximum credit limits for specific customers and ensure all payments are made within agreed terms to minimize overdue payments per business targets.
- Minimize slow-moving or obsolete stock related to your customer base to meet stock holding, working capital, and income targets.
- Expand market share by acquiring new customers, applications, and markets to meet sales targets.
- Investigate customer complaints internally and complete sign-off and approval with the customer within the designated time frame as per business guidelines.
- Participate in SHE programs to ensure excellent SHE performance is achieved.
Level of Education & Experience :
- Undergraduate degree with 5 years of commercial experience.
Technical Skills :
- Problem solving, negotiating, influencing, and analytical skills to assess customer needs and translate them into technical, production, planning, finance, and management actions.
- Proficiency in business systems such as SAP and relevant software like Microsoft Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, etc.
Behavioral Skills :
- Relationship management skills, capable of working with customers to support their needs and build strong relationships, balancing assertiveness with relationship building.
- Clear, persuasive verbal and written communication skills, with active listening to understand customer needs.
