A leading cloud infrastructure provider in Ludwigsfelde seeks a Regional Safety Engineer to enhance health and safety standards across its data centers. You’ll implement safety practices, manage training programs, and ensure compliance with safety regulations while collaborating with various stakeholders. This position requires a degree in Environmental Science/Health and Safety and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Regional Safety Engineer, Data Center Health and Safety. AWS Data Services European Sovereign Cloud GmbH. Join the world class safety culture at AWS and be part of supporting the largest cloud computing infrastructure team as a Regional Safety Engineer. You will own the Health and Safety function for your respective area, improve health and safety of data centers, advance safety culture, and protect employees. You will work with data center engineers who manage electrical switching equipment, large scale air handling mechanical systems, and critical IT gear. You will collaborate with security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to advance the global health safety program, and partner with employees and contractors to achieve safety goals and strengthen the safety culture. As AWS expands data capacity, you will partner with construction managers to identify and mitigate risks prior to live operations. This role operates in a fast-paced environment where infrastructure, tools, and processes rapidly evolve, advocating safe changes in new environments and projects.
This role is for an experienced Safety Specialist or Safety Engineer. The prime responsibility is to support safety operations for Data Centers. You will be part of regional and global teams working with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance safety of operations. Close collaboration with onsite physical security, vendors, compliance officers, risk management, and fire/life safety systems is required. You will also work with employees and contractors to achieve specific safety objectives. You must be an effective communicator, delivering clear, concise messages verbally, in writing, and in public speaking settings. You will advise, instruct and train personnel on safety policies and procedures, and help teams incorporate and improve safety standards at their sites. You will report to the Regional Safety Manager – EMEA and be responsible for continuing to enhance safety of operations and construction. Some domestic and international travel is required.
