An established industry player is seeking a Regional Controller to oversee financial operations across Europe. What will you do as an Regional Controller?
The Regional Controller reports to the Group Controller and is responsible for most aspects of financial operations of the company’s EMEA regional operations, which includes monthly closing and reporting, review of internal controls and processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and providing advice on matters relating to payroll, tax, transfer pricing and compliance. In addition, the Regional Controller will collaborate and work closely with the Finance team in HQ (Burnaby, Canada) to provide financial reporting and commentary on variances and movements in the financial statements. The Regional Controller will also collaborate with the Managing Director(s) and leaders in the region who have oversight of the offices (ranging from 5-30 employees per office).
This position can either work out of our Oulu, Finland office OR work remotely in Germany.
The Regional Controller is responsible for the financial reporting and commentary on development and trends in the region. The Regional Controller ensures the implementation of strategic business and/or operational plans, projects, programs and systems that are communicated via LMI’s HQ. In this important role, the Regional Controller will ensure implementations and improvements are achieved effectively.
The Regional Controller reports to the Group Controller and will supervise the Accounting staff for Europe (1 based in Kerkrade, Netherlands and 1 in Teltow, Germany), and liaises with the various service providers for payroll, tax and accounting services (Germany, Finland, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Czech Republic, Italy). The Regional Controller will also interact externally with the company’s auditors, insurance agents, banks, government agencies, suppliers and various customers.
