As a Regional Commissioning Engineer (m/f), you will be responsible for commissioning AC/DC power projects, conducting on-site inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs/incidents. You will provide high-level technical support at locations in Germany or the DACH region, with a high degree of independence.
MAJOR TASKS
- Execute commissioning (L3) for Power AC/DC and battery products at various sites in DACH.
- Participate proactively in planning meetings to support project requirements and optimize productivity.
- Perform system tests including L4 (SAT), L5 (IST), and customer acceptance testing; prepare related technical reports, documentation, and procedures.
- Collaborate with local service teams during serious site issues or significant incidents, organizing site visits with technical expertise.
- Gather and report site results to improve product quality.
- Prepare root cause analysis reports for critical incidents and manage the RCAR process for minor incidents.
- Support field service with technical procedures and tools.
- Distribute technical service information, such as Field Change Notices (FCN), based on field data.
- Ensure all activities comply with ITC and EU environmental regulations.
- Participate remotely in case resolution, with direct involvement in authorized cases.
- Assess site environments for suitable storage locations.
- Complete documentation, including device parameters and I/O setup.
- Regularly prepare device status reports for project teams.
- Support FAT processes and technician onboarding during local product introductions.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn and operate Vertiv products.
- Adhere to EHS policies and safe work practices.
- Represent the company professionally on-site and train personnel on equipment operation and care.
- Identify opportunities for equipment sales, maintenance contracts, and power system replacements.
- Respond professionally to support requests.
- Contribute to product reviews and feedback loops.
- Support onboarding and troubleshooting of the new Power architecture.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Electrical training or certification (preferred).
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Over 5 years in the electrical industry.
- Over 2 years in power field service or customer interface roles.
- Valid driving license.
