U.S. Air Force in Kaiserslautern seeks a recreation/facilities assistant for the Rod & Gun Club. Primary duties include operation and maintenance of Rod & Gun facilities, following safety procedures, and assisting senior staff with various tasks.
No prior experience is required; candidates must be able to lift 40–50 pounds, follow instructions, and learn to safely handle firearms and ammunition. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is expected.
About the position:
This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Rod and Gun Club, Kaiserslautern, Germany.
This position does not offer logistical support.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of the Rod & Gun facilities.

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is U.S. Citizens and legal U.S. residents in Germany. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
No experience is required, however, should be able to use, clean and control common hand tools to include simple power equipment, drills, vacuums, cutters. Able to follow oral and/or written instructions, checklists involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps. Able to perform the full range of janitorial duties, learn to operate a point-of-sale system and handle cash. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions for long periods of time. Must be able to learn to safely handle, store and account for firearms, ammunition and other equipment. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the gun control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
