Your Impact

McKinsey is a global business consultancy that helps organizations achieve sustainable, inclusive growth. We work with clients in the private, public, and social sectors to solve complex problems and create positive change for all involved. We combine bold strategies and transformative technologies to help companies innovate more sustainably, achieve lasting performance improvements, and build workforces that will thrive for this generation and the next.

In Germany and Austria, McKinsey has offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, Stuttgart, and Vienna. Globally, McKinsey teams work in more than 130 cities and 65 countries.

At McKinsey, people with diverse career backgrounds work together. In Office Management, they include former translators, flight attendants, and hotel managers.

As part of our three-person reception team, you will be the first point of contact in our Berlin office. You will quickly and flexibly help with all organizational tasks and ensure the seamless processing of our services. Among other responsibilities, you will manage room reservations for meetings, ensure optimal room planning, and make sure that every event room is equipped with the required technology.

You will competently support colleagues and visitors from Germany and abroad before and after meetings – and provide reliable information at all times. At our switchboard, you will take phone calls and forward them to the correct contact person.

In Facility Management, you will assist with various office projects, such as coordinating appointments with suppliers, supporting them during visits, creating key figure analyses, and preparing presentations and meeting minutes.

You will also be responsible for administration and organization in the mailroom, including processing incoming and outgoing mail and providing office supplies and IT equipment.

In addition, you will take on administrative tasks and process invoices for external services. From the outset, you will take on responsibility for your own special tasks. Together with the team, you will further enhance the high-quality standards of our office.

With us, you will find challenging tasks in an exceptionally committed team, with many opportunities for further training and great scope for personal development. In addition to modern offices in exclusive locations and state-of-the-art equipment, we offer other interesting benefits (e.g., free meals) and company-supported health management (e.g., sports offerings). Performance-based compensation and attractive social benefits round out our offer.

The position is initially for a fixed term of two years.

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • You have completed your commercial professional training, e.g., as a hotel manager, ideally from a reputable hotel business.
  • You have initial experience of reception work, in the hotel industry or in other service industry areas.
  • You demonstrate strong service orientation and an aptitude for dealing with people.
  • You think and act in a structured and conscientious manner and possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • You have excellent organizational skills and can set appropriate priorities.
  • You are reliable and flexible, quick to grasp new concepts, and have good judgment.
  • With your positive demeanor, you remain calm and maintain oversight even in hectic situations.
  • You are fluent in German, have excellent written and spoken English skills, and are experienced at using standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ideally, you have a technical understanding and aptitude, enabling you to quickly familiarize yourself with new technologies.
