R&D Clinical & Medical Coding Analyst - Remote

The Impact You Will Make in this Role

Solventum HIS specializes in designing healthcare payment and quality outcome systems and advancing value-based care. We work with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers on payment models and quality programs that improve patient safety and reduce costs. We also support international efforts in healthcare budgeting, payment, and quality measurement. Your role will involve:

• Providing expertise in developing, documenting, validating, and maintaining clinical content for Solventum outpatient groupers, code editors, and software such as Tricare, Home Health, IOCE, and EAPG.
• Contributing to research efforts and prioritizing research enhancements.
• Collaborating with product and research teams to translate clinical hypotheses into specifications and maintain clinical documentation.
• Working with technical teams to implement and evaluate clinical specifications.
• Maintaining process documentation following C&ER standards.

Your Skills and Expertise

To succeed, candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of healthcare industry experience in outpatient medical coding, billing, claims processing, or healthcare analytics.
• Proficiency with Excel, databases, and analytical applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and taking initiative.
• Strong collaboration skills with clinicians, researchers, and engineers, and leadership in team engagement.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred)

• Master’s degree in health-related fields or HIM credentials.
• Experience with outpatient coding, payment systems, and research in Medicare, Medicaid, or commercial settings.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, NDC, APC, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS, HCC, and DRG.
• Healthcare software development experience and industry experience in quality, population health, or care management.

Work location: Remote
