Key responsibilities

In this role, you will play a key part in driving successful outcomes in technology, software, product, and solution development – including related Intellectual Property (IP). You will serve as the primary point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related topics and maintenance tasks. Additionally, you will leverage your expertise to identify, propose, and implement innovative solutions.

Work model: Hybrid (#Li-Hybrid)

This role is part of the Process Control Platform – Research & Development, Engineering Stream (PCP RD EN), based in Minden, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining established engineering tools focused on Device Management, while continuously integrating the latest technologies, tools, and methodologies into your work.
  • Exploring future-proof software approaches by developing ideas, formulating hypotheses, and defining validation methods.
  • Documenting your work results (e.g., findings, designs, or software) to ensure they can be easily maintained and further developed by others.
  • Transferring your outcomes to other product lines and supporting colleagues in their implementation.
  • Understanding and initiating IP creation within your area of expertise and actively contributing to the project’s IP strategy.

Qualifications for the role
  • You have strong expertise in using Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and Azure DevOps as integrated development environments.
  • You bring at least 5 years of experience in Computer Science, specifically within the Process Automation domain.
  • You have advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, including C#, C++, and Smalltalk.
  • Experience as a Configuration Manager or Cyber Security Engineer is a plus.
  • You are passionate about software development in a global team environment, with a focus on delivering sustainable engineering tool solutions for customers worldwide.
  • You communicate fluently in German and are comfortable using English in a professional context.
  • You hold a valid work permit for Germany or the European Union.
