Jobbeschreibung

In this role, you will support our global technology team as an R&D Engineer, focusing on the development of transformer technology in the field of electromagnetics, including magnetic stray flux effects and load losses. Your work will contribute to maintaining, verifying, and introducing new rules for Power Transformer standards at Hitachi Energy. This includes improving our design and simulation software and providing expert support to our design engineers worldwide. The position offers growth opportunities in related areas such as finite element (FE) simulation of losses and forces.

Responsibilities
  1. Research and define best-in-class calculation models supporting flux management and transformer loading.
  2. Focus on developing models for transformer load losses, eddy losses, current distribution, and impedances.
  3. Support and guide understanding of the effects of current harmonics on windings and losses.
  4. Assist in short-circuit current and force calculations.
  5. Support 3D FEM simulations of losses and forces.
Background
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Skills in field simulations (2D and 3D electromagnetic simulations) are advantageous.
  • Willingness to work in a remote and diverse environment and to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in English and good communication skills for knowledge sharing and customer interactions.
  • Experience with programming and involvement in creating design tools is advantageous.
  • Experience with the design and testing of power transformers is advantageous.
  • Experience in electric circuit modeling is advantageous.
