Applied Materials is the world market leader for special systems and manufacturing processes in semiconductor, electronics, and display technology.

Our subsidiary, ICT Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH, with currently 150 employees, develops and manufactures electron microscopy columns, the core component of our machines that inspect defects and measure sizes on semiconductors. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (m/w/d) with a strong background in mechanical design and analytical/problem-solving skills to be responsible for designing and developing parts, assemblies, modules, and final assemblies of electron microscopes and related hardware.

Our Team:

R&D team focuses on developing complex machines for electron optic microscopy used in semiconductor wafer inspection during microchip fabrication.

You are excellent at:

• Performing mechanical designs for high-precision optomechanical systems in cleanroom environments, high-voltage designs, and vacuum cooling systems
• Authoring detailed technical drawings, defining fabrication processes, selecting materials, and establishing finishing standards with GD&T, including complex tolerance analysis
• Designing and executing experiments
• Conducting CAE simulations and analyses for design validation and troubleshooting
• Leading mechanical development processes, presenting design reviews, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including Optics, Physics, Control, Electronics, Software, Project Management, Manufacturing, and suppliers

Key requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical or Precision Engineering or equivalent with 5-7 years of experience
• Fluent in German and proficient in English, both written and spoken
• Proficient in CAD software
• Skilled in GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis
• Knowledge of Inventor, TeamCenter, SAP or similar programs is desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in large, multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with CAE software for structural, modal, thermal, and flow analysis
