Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor seeks a Data Governance Specialist to own governance of Public Health data assets, collaborating with data stewards and driving Collibra adoption across the division. You will curate metadata, develop SOPs, and ensure data quality and lineage are well documented.

In this role you will work with data engineering, analytics, IT, and privacy teams to standardize processes, improve data documentation, definitions, and governance metrics across the enterprise.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in information technology, data management, business, analytics or related field.
• Knowledge of data governance, data stewardship, metadata management, data catalogs and data quality practices.
• Hands-on Collibra experience including asset curation and governance content.
• Experience with data governance tools other than Collibra is a plus.

• Own the development and ongoing operation of data governance and data management practices within the Public Health Division
• Curate, document, organize, and maintain Public Health data assets and metadata in Collibra
• Drive adoption and usage of Collibra
• Ensure data is accurately documented, understood, appropriately governed, and available for effective use
• Support development and maintenance of data governance processes, standards, guidelines, and SOPs
• Gather, document, validate, and maintain business and technical metadata with Business and Data Stewards
• Maintain the Public Health data catalog, business glossary, data definitions, and governance documentation
• Document data ownership, stewardship, classifications, business rules, data quality requirements, and data lineage
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities in metadata and data documentation
• Facilitate governance workgroups and meetings, prepare materials, document decisions, and track follow-up actions
• Facilitate discussions with business and technical stakeholders to establish shared understanding of data definitions, ownership, and business rules
• Support the Data Governance Lead in developing, reviewing, and maintaining governance standards, procedures, guidelines, and SOPs
• Assist with implementing and continuously improving Public Health data governance processes and practices
• Document data lineage and relationships between source systems, data warehouse assets, and reporting and analytics products
• Develop and maintain metrics and reports on metadata completeness, stewardship activities, data quality, and governance adoption
• Collaborate with Public Health programs, data engineering, analytics, IT, privacy, security, and other stakeholders on data initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Management, Business, Analytics, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
• Knowledge of data governance, data stewardship, metadata management, data catalogs, business glossaries, and data quality practices
• Hands-on experience with Collibra strongly preferred, including training business users, curation and maintenance of data assets, metadata, business glossaries, and related governance content
• Experience with a similar data governance or data catalog tool may be considered in lieu of Collibra experience
• Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience building effective relationships with Business and Data Stewards, subject matter experts, and technical stakeholders to gather, validate, and maintain metadata
• Exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, ArcGIS, or similar data and analytics platforms preferred
• Experience developing and maintaining process documentation, standards, procedures, guidelines, or Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
