Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree: Doctorate in Psychology.
  • Education: Have a Doctorate in Psychology from an American Psychological Association (APA) approved program with successful completion of a fellowship in clinical child psychology from an APA approved fellowship, or an equivalent fellowship.
  • Certification: The contractor is required to obtain a certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by the American Heart Association and/or the Red Cross approved training program prior to contract start date.
  • Experience: Have at least two years’ experience providing family centered services to a population of young children with disabilities and their families, including diagnosis and treatment of sleeping, feeding, attachment, and other behavior disorders using behavior management and other techniques.
  • Licensure: Must hold a full, current, and unrestricted license in a State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Provide evaluation, consultation and direct care psychological services for infants and toddlers with mental health difficulties and their families. This may include significant behavioral disorders, including attachment, feeding and sleeping disorders, emotional dysregulation, and suicidality.
  • Effectively communicate with children and families in order to establish a supportive relationship that shall result in collaborative family centered evaluations and interventions.
  • Utilize the knowledge, skills, and abilities to assist and teach families; articulate the developmental strengths and needs of the child; consult with families, care givers, and other professionals; explain the scope of services provided to families; and participate in team/group interactions, work groups and decision making.
