Summary

The American Medical Center was founded in 2012 to address and help fill the needs of the Americans stationed in the Kaiserslautern Military Community.

Due to limited medical care space on base and issues with the German healthcare system, many stationed Americans experienced frustrations. To meet growing demand, the American Medical Center has expanded its services to include family practice physicians, physical therapists, psychiatrists, nutritional counseling, and veterans’ evaluation services.

Currently, the American Medical Center offers many services across two locations. We are seeking a Psychiatrist to join the Army Medical Center (AMC), Mental Health Consultation Liaison Team, Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, and Outpatient clinics.

Qualifications
  • License: Must possess a current, board-certified psychiatrist license that is active, valid, and unrestricted in at least one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territories. The license must remain current, active, valid, and unrestricted.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.
  • Language: Fluent in reading, understanding, speaking, and writing English.
  • Knowledge and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, commitment to ethical patient care, ability to collaborate in a diverse team, create positive patient experiences, and articulate medical requirements professionally.

  • Evaluating and diagnosing patients.
  • Prescribing medications.
  • Conducting treatments such as psychotherapy or electroconvulsive therapy.
  • Providing ongoing patient care and evaluation.
