The Provost has broad responsibility for leading CU Schools, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and research excellence.
Your key responsibilities will include :
Lead academic operations and manage the three academic schools and their faculties
Articulate and implement a strategic academic vision in alignment with university goals
Promote teaching and research excellence and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration
Facilitate technology transfer and cooperation with external partners
Oversee curriculum development, program assessment, and accreditation
Manage faculty hiring, promotion, and performance evaluation
Enhance quality of education and student support services
Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion across all academic functions
Ensure effective resource allocation and budget oversight
Strengthen external partnerships and university visibility
Required Qualifications
Distinguished academic background with significant contributions in higher education
Proven ability in academic administration, strategic planning, and budget management
Demonstrated change management experience, preferably in complex or transitioning environments
Familiarity with accreditation standards and quality assurance in education
Strong understanding of digitalization trends in teaching and research
Knowledge of the German and international academic landscape
Deep understanding of the high-tech industry and experience in aligning academic curricula with industry needs
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and external communication skills
Fluency in English is essential; German proficiency is highly desirable
Preferred Attributes
Experience across disciplines or interdisciplinary collaboration
Familiarity with the research grant process and academic funding systems
Ability to build consensus and inspire trust within a diverse academic community
