Who We Are

Black Engineers of Canada (BEC) is a Non for Profit Professional Organization geared towards providing a safe environment for Black Engineers where they can aspire and become a better version of themselves. The Job

We are searching for a Provincial Partnership Champion - Manitoba (Volunteer) who will handle the key responsibilities by dedicating 10 hours weekly of volunteer time.

The Provincial Partnership Champion - Manitoba (Volunteer) plays a strategic ambassador role by identifying, cultivating, and supporting partnerships that advance the organization’s mission. This role focuses on relationship-building with corporate partners, government departments, community organizations, foundations, and stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s impact, sustainability, and visibility.

Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Relationship Building
  • Identify potential corporate, community, government departments/programs and institutional partners aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Initiate and nurture relationships with prospective partners through outreach, introductions, and networking.
  • Support the development of mutually beneficial partnership opportunities (financial, in-kind, or strategic).
  • Attain the provincial targets/goals for the forming of successful partnership as well as signing of funding MoUs within the agreed cycle period.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
  • Represent the organization professionally and consistently in external communications.
  • Build long-term relationships that support trust, credibility, and collaboration
Collaboration & Internal Support
  • Work closely with leadership, board members, and staff to align partnership efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Share insights, contacts, and opportunities with the internal team.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives that involve external partners.
Partnership Strategy & Growth
  • Contribute ideas and insights to strengthen the organization’s partnership strategy.
  • Help identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in partnership development within the non-profit sector.
  • Assist in prioritizing high-impact partnership opportunities.
Tracking & Reporting
  • Maintain basic records of partnership contacts and engagement activities within BEC CRM
  • Provide weekly updates on outreach efforts, conversations, and partnership progress.
  • Support stewardship and follow-up with existing partners.
Qualifications
  • Interest in supporting community, social, or charitable initiatives.
  • Experience or interest in business development, partnerships, fundraising, sales, marketing, or community engagement.
  • Engineering degree or experience will be an added advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable initiating conversations and building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
  • Ability to act professionally and ethically as a representative of the organization.
