Zusammenfassung

Isar Aerospace SE seeks a Propulsion Design Engineer to drive engine hardware development from concept to production. You will design engine components, piping, and subsystem packaging with a focus on weight, part count and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with fluid, combustion, structures, and manufacturing teams, performing structural and thermal analyses and delivering flight-proven hardware using CAD tools like Siemens NX.

Qualifikationen

  • M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven engineering excellence and ability to solve complex technical problems.
  • Experience in mechanical design of complex assemblies within the aerospace sector.
  • Experience with machining processes, tolerancing, and technical drawing standards.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, including detailed part and assembly modelling and drawing creation.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability principles.
  • Experience in structural and thermal analysis using analytical methods and simulation tools.
  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary, cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized and proactive with strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for rocket propulsion and space.
  • Fluent in English.

Mission Brief

As a Propulsion Design Engineer, you will drive the development of engine hardware frominitialconceptthrough qualification and production. You willbe responsible forthe design, analysis, and integration of engine structural components, piping, and subsystem packaging, with a strong focus oncomponentplacement, massoptimisation, and manufacturability. This includes defining engine architecture,optimisingrouting and interfaces, and developing design solutions that reduce weight, part count, and costs, while ensuring performance and reliability.Therole requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and a strong understanding of engine architecture and system-level integration.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:
  • Own complex engine assemblies from concept to hardware delivery, balancing technical scope, schedule, and integration requirements.
  • Design and develop engine hardware and fluid routing using CAD tools, including detailed 3Dmodelsand manufacturing drawings.
  • Drive the iterative development and continuousoptimisationof flight-proven hardware.
