Isar Aerospace SE invites a Propulsion Design Engineer to lead engine hardware from concept through qualification and production. You will optimise mass, routing, and interfaces while ensuring performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include 3D CAD modelling, design for manufacturability, and close cooperation with fluid, combustion, structures and manufacturing teams. Fluent English is required; German bonus.

Qualifikationen

• M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven engineering excellence and ability to solve complex problems.
• Experience in mechanical design of complex aerospace assemblies.
• Experience with machining, tolerancing, and drawing standards.
• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably Siemens NX, with detailed part/assembly modeling and drawings.
• Experience with manufacturability principles.
• Experience in structural and thermal analysis using analytical methods and simulations.
• Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Highly organized and proactive with strong attention to detail.
• Fluent in English.

Mission Brief

As a Propulsion Design Engineer, you will drive the development of engine hardware from initial concept through qualification and production. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and integration of engine structural components, piping, and subsystem packaging, with a strong focus on component placement, mass optimisation, and manufacturability. This includes defining engine architecture, optimising routing and interfaces, and developing design solutions that reduce weight, part count, and costs, while ensuring performance and reliability. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and a strong understanding of engine architecture and system-level integration.

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

• Own complex engine assemblies from concept to hardware delivery, balancing technical scope, schedule, and integration requirements.
• Design and develop engine hardware and fluid routing using CAD tools, including detailed 3Dmodelsand manufacturing drawings.
• Drive the iterative development and continuous optimisation of flight-proven hardware.

• Experience with Python or similar programming languages for engineering automation.
• Experience using Siemens Teamcenter or other PLM systems.
• Professional working proficiency in German.
