Overview
Project Planner – Europe. Fulltime / Permanent. 75,000 + Flights + Accom + Living allowance.
The Planner is responsible for the development, maintenance, and monitoring of construction programmes for complex projects, with a focus on Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installations. This role supports project teams by producing accurate schedules, tracking progress, and providing planning outputs throughout the full project lifecycle—from pre-construction to commissioning and close-out.
Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, Microsoft Project, and other scheduling tools.
- Produce Level 1–4 programmes in line with contract and client expectations.
- Resource-load programmes and link to cost and procurement schedules.
- Incorporate subcontractor and supplier input into the overall programme.
- Track and update programmes regularly, measuring actual progress against baseline.
- Generate, interpret, and present planning outputs, including critical path analysis, float calculations, histograms, and earned value metrics.
- Identify schedule-related risks and contribute to developing time-based mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a planning risk register and provide input to broader project risk management.
- Conduct “what-if” and recovery scenario modelling to support project teams.
- Support acceleration efforts by providing programme crash strategies while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Ensure programmes comply with contractual requirements (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, JCT).
- Provide planning support to pre-construction teams during tender and bid stages.
- Assist in standardising planning templates and procedures across projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction planning, preferably within M&E projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, and Microsoft Project.
- Experience producing fully resourced and logically linked programmes.
- Ability to generate and interpret planning outputs, including critical path analysis, float, histograms, and earned value metrics.
- Experience across large-scale, multi-disciplinary construction projects.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to support project delivery through accurate planning and scheduling.
