Role Purpose
Close collaboration with Vehicle Attribute team, this role leads the project integration and governance of vehicle attribute development activities across NVH, Ride & Handling, Braking, Thermal, Energy/Range, Comfort and related disciplines. The role integrates targets, development plans, test and validation activities, resources, risks and cross-attribute dependencies to ensure vehicle attributes converge toward European product objectives and project gateways, while maximizing the effective technical time of scarce engineering experts.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrated Attribute Planning
- Create and maintain the integrated attribute development plan covering target definition, simulation, prototype builds, testing, tuning, validation, reporting and sign-off.
- Align attribute activities with the vehicle master schedule and key project gateways.
Cross-Attribute Integration
- Coordinate dependencies across NVH, ride & handling, braking, thermal performance, energy efficiency/range, comfort and other relevant vehicle attributes.
- Identify potential conflicts and trade-offs early, prepare decision topics and drive timely cross-functional resolution.
Test & Validation Coordination
- Integrate test vehicles, proving-ground activities, instrumentation, software/hardware maturity, test windows and engineering resources into one validation plan.
- Track test completion, report availability, retest needs and evidence required for gateway readiness.
Risk, Issue & Decision Management
- Maintain a structured attribute risk and issue register with clear owners, due dates, impact and escalation paths.
- Escalate risks that threaten vehicle targets, timing, resources or gateway acceptance and follow decisions through to closure.
Gateway Readiness & Delivery
- Assess attribute readiness for relevant vehicle gateways using objective evidence and agreed acceptance criteria.
- Provide clear status, remaining gaps and recovery actions to project leadership and engineering stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Resource Coordination
- Coordinate Europe R&D, China engineering teams, test facilities, suppliers and other project functions involved in attribute delivery.
- Highlight resource conflicts and capacity constraints early and support prioritization across parallel vehicle programs.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or above in Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline; engineering background preferred.
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle development, vehicle attributes, test & validation or automotive project management; experience in complex whole-vehicle programs preferred.
- Good understanding of the vehicle development process and major gateways, with the ability to understand the basic development logic of several attributes such as NVH, Ride & Handling, Braking, Thermal and Energy/Range.
- Experience in whole-vehicle testing, validation, prototype management or cross-functional integration is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive technical teams toward plans and decisions without direct line authority.
- Professional working proficiency in English; China-Europe cross-cultural project experience preferred.
- Proficiency in project planning, risk/issue management and data analysis tools.
