g2 Recruitment seeks an experienced Project Engineer to support HV substation construction across Germany, including Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart. You will coordinate technical aspects, provide engineering support and manage on-site interfaces through construction, installation and commissioning.

Work closely with the Project Manager, design teams and contractors to ensure safety, on-time delivery and compliance with IEC, VDE and DIN standards.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in energy infrastructure projects.
• Strong command of English; German-speaking is preferred but not essential.

• Review and coordinate engineering documentation (GA drawings, earthing and cable schedules).
• Ensure compliance with IEC, VDE, DIN standards, HSE and quality requirements.

• Participate in site inspections, FATs/SATs and quality checks.

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of high‑voltage substation construction projects. The role involves technical coordination, engineering support, and on‑site interface management throughout the construction, installation, and commissioning phases of HV / EHV AC substations.

There are multiple projects across Germany, with the major projects being in Berlin, Munich and Stuttgart. Our client have said the candidate is able to choose from these locations which may be the most suitable, as there are multiple roles and they are looking to build out a strong team.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, design teams, contractors, and the end client to ensure all engineering activities are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. Our client are one of the market‑leading contractors for the construction of substations, having successfully delivered substations for 3 major BESS projects across Germany and Austria.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of substation construction projects across (110 kV – 525 kV AC)
• Review and coordinate engineering documentation, including:
• GA drawings
• Earthing and cable schedules
• Ensure compliance with:
• Client technical specifications
• IEC, VDE, DIN standards
• HSE and quality requirements
• Act as the technical interface between engineering, construction, and commissioning teams
• Support on‑site installation of:
• Power transformers
• AIS / GIS switchgear
• Resolve technical queries and non‑conformances during construction
• Participate in site inspections, FATs, SATs and quality checks

Experience:

• Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification
• 3 + years' experience in energy infrastructure projects
• Strong command of English, German-speaking is desired but not essential
