Shape the Future of Finance

Our Strategy & Projects department supports the transformation of our Finance Services organization through efficient digital and scalable processes. We seek a Project Manager to lead and execute projects focused on digitalization, standardization, and automation of accounting processes, especially in Accounts Payable (AP) and General Ledger (GL). You will also manage transition projects transferring finance activities to Finance Services, ensuring seamless integration and improvements. You will report directly to the Head of Strategy & Projects, with flexible work location options in Essen or Regensburg, including remote work.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead group-wide initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and quality of accounting processes.
• Plan, execute, and monitor projects using professional project management skills.
• Drive standardization and harmonization of finance processes across entities and countries.
• Manage transition projects transferring finance operations to Finance Services.
• Partner with senior stakeholders in Finance, IT, and other functions.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication and decision-making, ensuring transparency.
• Deliver and manage strategic rollout projects across the group.
• Monitor project performance, report to senior management, and mitigate risks.
• Support rollout topics from requirements to communication and change management.

Candidate Profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in finance transformation, project management, or Shared Services; consulting experience is a plus.
• Leadership experience in complex international projects.
• Proven track record in managing impactful projects and transitions.
• Deep knowledge of finance processes, especially in AP and GL.
• Experience with digitalization and automation tools (knowledge of Hypatos and Redwood is advantageous).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Conflict resolution skills, stamina, and strong presentation skills.
• Customer-focused with problem-solving abilities at senior management level.
• Solution-oriented mindset and high accountability.
• Ability to conceptualize and understand complex problems.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Willingness to travel; flexible work arrangements preferred.
