Job summary

OQEMA Group is seeking a Project Manager SAP S/4HANA (m/f/d) in Mönchengladbach. This full-time, hybrid role focuses on leading SAP S/4HANA initiatives and coordinating cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

You will partner with the Chief Product Owner and Chief Scrum Master, oversee test management, cutover activities, data migration, and operations handover, while shaping project governance and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• Degree in business informatics, business administration, computer science or related field or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience in SAP projects, including at least one S/4HANA implementation or migration.
• Hands-on experience in SAP projects in two cross-team areas: test management, data migration, cutover, change management.
• Experience as a project or sub-project lead in scaled agile setups (e.g. Scrum of Scrums, SAFe, SAP Activate).
• Hands-on mentality; ability to roll up sleeves and drive delivery.
• Confident with executive management, business departments and external partners; strong negotiation skills.
• Structured, independent working style, high resilience, and strong communication.
• Excellent German and good English skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead the SAP S/4HANA project in an agile setup with a Scrum of Scrums approach.
• Coordinate with the Chief Product Owner and Chief Scrum Master.
• Own topics beyond individual agile teams (test management, integration, regression, acceptance tests).
• Manage cutover, go-live and hypercare.
• Oversee authorizations, interfaces and transition into operations.
• Handle overall project planning, budget, risk and dependency management.
• Plan releases and milestones with the Chief Product Owner.
• Manage external partners and service providers, including contracts and deliverables.
• Provide regular reporting to steering committee and executive management.

Your impact within the OQEMA Group

Project Management SAP S/4HANA (approx. 70%)

• Leading the SAP S/4HANA project in an agile setup with a Scrum of Scrums approach
• Close cooperation with the Chief Product Owner and Chief Scrum Master
• Responsibility for all topics beyond the individual agile teams
• Hands-on coordination of cross-team topics, with your own expert input:
• Test management: test strategy, integration, regression and acceptance tests, defect management and test tools
• Cutover, go-live and hypercare
• Authorizations, interfaces and transition into operations
• Overall project planning, budget, risk and dependency management
• Release and milestone planning together with the Chief Product Owner
• Management of external implementation partners and service providers, including contracts and deliverables
• Regular reporting to the steering committee and executive management
• Preparation of management decisions

Staff Function to the Group Director IT & Digitalization (approx. 30%)

• Operational and strategic support for the Group Director IT & Digitalization
• Preparation of decision papers, presentations, reports and budget plans

What we are looking for

• A degree in business informatics, business administration, computer science or a related field, or a comparable qualification with relevant professional experience.
• 10+ years of experience in SAP projects, ideally including at least one S/4HANA implementation or migration (greenfield, brownfield or selective data transition).
• Hands-on experience in SAP projects in at least two of these cross-team areas: test management, data migration, cutover and change management.
• Experience as a project or sub-project lead in scaled agile setups (e.g. Scrum of Scrums, SAFe, SAP Activate), and an understanding of how project management, product owners and scrum masters work together.
• A hands-on mentality: you don’t just steer, you also roll up your sleeves.
• A confident manner with executive management, business departments and external partners, and strong negotiation skills.
• A structured, independent way of working, high resilience and a genuine enjoyment of communication.
• Excellent German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
