Project Manager (m/f/d)
What you will do: As a Project Manager, you will take full ownership of complex executive search mandates—acting as the driving force behind each project’s structure, momentum, and success. You are responsible for independently leading the day-to-day execution of searches, managing teams, ensuring strategic alignment with client needs, and delivering high-quality outcomes. You serve as the central figure connecting clients, candidates, and internal stakeholders—operating with autonomy while drawing on the support of our Directors when needed.
- Project ownership: You will be directly accountable for the full execution and success of multiple search mandates, ensuring clarity, structure, and quality from initial briefing through to final placement. You will shape search strategies, define priorities, manage timelines, and be the key driver of project delivery.
- Team leadership: You will lead Associates and Researchers with confidence and purpose—delegating tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring each team member is clear on objectives and aligned with the overall project vision. You take responsibility for the quality of their work and their professional development within the project context.
- Client interface: You are the go-to project lead for clients—maintaining regular contact, presenting key insights, and managing expectations at every stage of the process. You confidently represent VON DER HEYDEN Human Capital in all communications and build trusted relationships through consistency, insight, and delivery.
- Strategic input: You independently develop and refine search strategies, role definitions, and organizational analyses, ensuring alignment with the client’s business context and hiring goals. Your recommendations are rooted in critical thinking, market knowledge, and commercial awareness.
- Execution excellence: You own the quality of every project output—ensuring candidate reports, search documents, and industry mappings are not only accurate but also strategic, clearly structured, and tailored to the seniority of the audience.
- Process optimization: You actively enhance our ways of working by identifying opportunities for greater efficiency, consistency, and clarity across project workflows, tools, and deliverables—contributing to the growth and scalability of our operations.
- Internal collaboration: You work cross-functionally with the CEO, Directors, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that projects are supported, knowledge is shared, and broader company initiatives are integrated into project delivery when needed.
What we are looking for: You are an energetic, analytical, and people-savvy professional with an entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys taking ownership and solving complex puzzles.
- 2–4 years of experience in Management Consulting, Executive Search, Investment Banking, Start-up/Scale-up, VC/PE, or related sectors
- First experience managing projects and/or leading small teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including client-facing experience
- Ability to juggle multiple mandates, think structurally, and keep the overview even under pressure
- Highest standards for quality and execution, paired with a hands-on, pragmatic mindset
- A good Bachelor's and ideally Master’s degree (preferably in economics, business, or natural sciences)
- Professional or -level German and English; other are a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Workspace
