Imec Germany is seeking a Project Manager Autonomous Edge in Heilbronn to lead PMO activities within the Autonomous Edge Sector. The role coordinates architecture, chiplet and package design, platform & test efforts, and collaboration with third-party partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will drive project scopes, schedules and risk management, while fostering strong relationships with clients and internal teams across imec Germany and ECs to enable fast, reliable, and scalable

The Advanced Chip Design Accelerator (ACDA) is the core of our mission in Heilbronn - establishing a state-of-the-art competence center dedicated to advanced chiplet design, system integration, and cutting-edge methodologies. ACDA provides the expertise and tools needed to bridge the gap between early-stage research and industrial adoption, enabling faster, safer, and more scalable deployment of chiplet-based technologies in the autonomous edge domain and beyond. Building on the foundation of imec’s Autonomous Edge Chiplet Program (AECP), ACDA extends this work into a regional accelerator that translates imec’s research leadership into practical, industry-ready solutions. By combining advanced design capabilities with deep local collaboration, ACDA empowers both regional and global automotive and edge-AI players to derisk development, accelerate innovation cycles, and industrialize next generation chiplet platforms with confidence.

To support this mission, we are looking for a Project Manager Autonomous Edge for imec Heilbronn.

What you will do

You will be operating in the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Autonomous Edge Sector.

As a project manager, you will be responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time-in-full and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving the project’s organization, delivery and timelines.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinate internal resources across architecture, chiplet & package design, platform & test as well as third-party partners/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
• Ensure that all projectsare deliveredon time, within scope and within budget
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuringtechnical feasibility
• Ensure resource availability and allocation across imec Germany and imec Expertise Centers (ECs)
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Report and escape to management as needed
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Perform risk management tominimizeproject risks
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports

Who you are

You are a detail-oriented communicator with a strong affinity for technology and a passion for precision. You combine technical understanding with excellent project management skills and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Your subject matter expertise in autonomous edge compute and system architectures will enable you to support and pro-actively drive consensus towards chiplet pre-compliance and standardization efforts, with multiple internal and external partners.

• You hold a PhD or MSc in Engineering, product development or equivalent, with at least a few years in a coordinating role in Semiconductor and/or Automotive business
• You have experience with leading and following-up projects with multiple partners in a structured and methodological way
• You have solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
• You enjoy keeping the overview and driving multidisciplinary developments from a system perspective as well as from a technology perspective (chiplet-based architectures and systems)
• Industrial experience is a strong plus, especially in development, automotive and mobility context
• Both hands-on mentality and system thinking are required
• A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluent in English
