imec Heilbronn is seeking a Project Manager Autonomous Edge to join its PMO and drive complex chiplet projects within the Autonomous Edge Sector. You will coordinate internal resources across architecture, chiplet & package design, platform & test, and with third-party partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will develop detailed project plans, manage scope changes, and maintain stakeholder relationships.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or MSc in Engineering with experience coordinating semiconductor/automotive projects.
• Experience leading multi-partner projects with a structured, methodical approach.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and multitasking.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Industrial experience in development, automotive and mobility is a plus.
• Hands-on mentality and system thinking across chiplet-based architectures.

To support this mission, we are looking for a Project Manager Autonomous Edge for imec Heilbronn.

What you will do

You will be operating in the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Autonomous Edge Sector.

As a project manager, you will be responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time-in-full and produce the desired results. You will be the go‑to person for everything involving the project’s organization, delivery and timelines.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinate internal resources across architecture, chiplet & package design, platform & test as well as third‑party partners/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Ensure resource availability and allocation across imec Germany and imec Expertise Centers (ECs)
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Report and escalate to management as needed
• Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports

Who you are

You are a detail‑oriented communicator with a strong affinity for technology and a passion for precision. You combine technical understanding with excellent project management skills and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. Your subject matter expertise in autonomous edge compute and system architectures will enable you to support and pro‑actively drive consensus towards chiplet pre‑compliance and standardization efforts, with multiple internal and external partners.

• You hold a PhD or MSc in Engineering, product development or equivalent, with at least a few years in a coordinating role in Semiconductor and/or Automotive business
• You have experience with leading and following‑up projects with multiple partners in a structured and methodological way
• You have solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi‑tasking skills
• You enjoy keeping the overview and driving multidisciplinary developments from a system perspective as well as from a technology perspective (chiplet‑based architectures and systems)
• Industrial experience is a strong plus, especially in development, automotive and mobility context
• Both hands‑on mentality and system thinking are required
• A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills and fluent in English
