Background

Sanofi has decided to invest into a new large state-of-the art facility for Insulin Drug Substance in Frankfurt, Germany. We're enhancing our legacy of excellence and build on decades of expertise on the whole value chain of insulin manufacturing. The new facility will be designed as a fully automated, green, modern, and state-of-the-art biologics facility considering specific process requirements of all insulins. A large global and highly cross-functional program organization will be established to lead and execute the program until commercial routine manufacturing.

About the Role

The PMO Lead for the Insulin Flex Facility (IFF) ensures structured project execution, governance adherence, and stakeholder alignment within this major Sanofi investment program. This role drives the implementation of global guidelines, standards, and gating processes while establishing robust governance structures. The position focuses on comprehensive program management including budgeting, milestone tracking, risk management, reporting, and strategic communication to enable successful project delivery.

The successful candidate will coordinate project management efforts, facilitating collaboration across international teams and ensuring consistent methodologies are applied. The role also entails transversal interactions with multiple stakeholders requiring excellent communication skills and stakeholder management expertise. The PMO Lead will work closely with the global functions, the insulin cluster, the China cluster, as well as with the E2E lead.

Main Responsibilities

1. Program Orchestration & Standards Implementation

  • Prepare and conduct Steering Committees for this Billion-euro program
  • Establish governance structures, supporting tools, and KPIs for program success
  • Ensure adherence to global guidelines, gating processes, and standards
  • Monitor environmental changes and support project teams in problem-solving
  • Manage and optimize the program budget for cost-effective delivery

2. Data Excellence & Digital Innovation

  • Develop URS for project management tools and generate stakeholder-specific reports
  • Track milestones, budgets, and deliverables using enterprise project management software
  • Maintain single source of truth for program data and implement AI use cases
  • Develop dashboards and progress tracking mechanisms with KPIs
  • Leverage advanced technologies for data visualization and predictive analytics

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Cultural Leadership

  • Drive structured communication and change strategy across the program
  • Manage diverse stakeholder needs and foster positive team atmosphere
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration and ensure effective information flow
  • Proactively identify and address potential roadblocks
  • Build strong relationships with global functions, insulin cluster, and China cluster

About You

  • Education : Advanced degree in engineering, pharmacy, biotechnology or related field; Project Management certification from PMI, IPMA or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Experience : 6 years in a pharmaceutical industry experience; proven expertise in project management and program governance , demonstrated team leadership skills
  • Technical Expertise : Experience in program management within the pharmaceutical industry with skills in budgeting, risk management and KPI tracking. Ability to manage high-stakes projects and engage cross-functional teams. Strong ability to develop executive reports, dashboards, and structured documentation. Proficiency in PMO tools (e.g., SharePoint, dashboards, risk matrices); Familiarity with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements
  • Languages : Excellent communication skills both in English and German, additional languages a a plus; Intercultural experience (EU / US / Asia esp. China) is a plus
