Your Role:

Join us and take the lead in overseeing the GenTG S1 and S2 facilities in our brand new cutting-edge established Research building, Translational Science Center (TSC), focusing on processes related to both in vitro and in vivo work that drive innovative research in Healthcare R&D.

You will join a highly motivated team responsible for critical activities related to cell banking and spearheading the development of innovative in vitro cancer cell line and organoid models. As a Project Leader according to GenTG, you will play a pivotal role in concept generation, implementation, and execution of processes around genetic engineering, ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements. Collaborating closely with a talented team of scientists and technicians in a matrix organization, you will support projects that are at the forefront of scientific advancement in the area of Oncology and Neurology & Immunology.

As GenTG Project Leader, you will be responsible for biosafety documentation, conducting regular training sessions, and establishing effective operating instructions & processes. You will serve as the primary contact for the biological safety officer and the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) organization, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. Your expertise will also be essential in conducting regular risk assessments of genetically modified organisms and driving our digitalization strategy for documentation.

Stay ahead of the curve by keeping abreast of new technological trends in genetic engineering tools, including the application of viral vectors under S2 conditions. Who you are:

  • PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related areas with a minimum 3 years of experience in an S2 facility
  • Profound knowledge in molecular biology and virology
  • Qualification according to “Infektionsschutzgesetz §44 and 47" is a plus; ideally, Projektleiterschein according to §28 Gentechnik-Sicherheitsverordnung (GenTSV)
  • Extensive experience with genetic modifications of cell lines and primary cells (overexpression, CRISPR, lentiviral transduction, AAVs)
  • Good knowledge and experience in project management
  • Basic understanding of in vivo and in vitro pharmacology, target identification and biomarker research
  • Basic knowledge in Drug Discovery process and Drug Development and target and disease relevant pharmacological models
  • Able to work independently in a matrix organisation
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and great presentation skills
  • Collaborative, passionate and enthusiastic personality with ability to communicate effectively & work in a rapidly expanding and changing environment
  • Knowledge of German language (minimum C1 level), fluent in speaking and writing English
